{"id":1349,"date":"2025-04-17T12:29:56","date_gmt":"2025-04-17T09:29:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.wsc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1349"},"modified":"2025-05-23T12:13:44","modified_gmt":"2025-05-23T09:13:44","slug":"the-womens-studies-center-in-collaboration-with-the-college-of-science-for-women-holds-a-workshop-on-green-education-and-sustainable-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.wsc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1349","title":{"rendered":"The Women\u2019s Studies Center, in collaboration with the College of Science for Women, Holds a Workshop on Green Education and Sustainable Development"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]The Women\u2019s Studies Center \/ Women\u2019s Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the College of Science for Women at the University of Baghdad, held a workshop entitled \u201cGreen Education and Its Role in Achieving Sustainable Development\u201d on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the college\u2019s conference hall.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop highlighted the importance of integrating green education concepts into the educational system as a strategic tool to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development that takes into account environmental, social, and economic dimensions.<\/p>\n<p>The event witnessed academic participation, where attendees emphasized that green education contributes to raising individuals\u2019 awareness of the interconnection between ecosystems and human activities. It also enhances their abilities in critical thinking and solving complex environmental and social problems, while encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship in sustainable fields.<\/p>\n<p>Recommendations:<br \/>\n1.Develop curricula that incorporate environmental concepts and integrate green education across all educational stages.<br \/>\n2.Train teachers and equip them with modern environmental education skills.<br \/>\n3.Engage students in practical and field-based environmental activities to enhance understanding and application.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative is in line with the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security \u2013 Pillar of Protection and Prevention, 2025 \/ Paragraph 8.<br \/>\nThis initiative is with the 17th Sustainable Development Goal, which emphasizes the importance of fostering effective partnerships as a fundamental pillar for achieving comprehensive and sustainable
