{"id":1419,"date":"2025-04-30T10:48:02","date_gmt":"2025-04-30T07:48:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.wsc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1419"},"modified":"2025-05-23T11:48:15","modified_gmt":"2025-05-23T08:48:15","slug":"womens-studies-center-discusses-the-impact-of-alienation-and-migration-on-the-risk-of-extremism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.wsc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1419","title":{"rendered":"Women\u2019s Studies Center Discusses the Impact of Alienation and Migration on the Risk of Extremism"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">As part of supporting the Sustainable Development Goals\u2014particularly Goal 4 on quality education, Goal 10 on reducing inequality, and Goal 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions\u2014the Women\u2019s Studies Center at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific workshop on Sunday, April 27, 2025, titled \u201cDiaspora Youth Between Social Alienation and the Risk of Radicalization.\u201d The event was held as part of the Cultural and Entrepreneurial Week activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">The workshop lecture was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Lara Hassan Abdullah, who shed light on current global transformations and the increasing waves of migration, along with the accompanying psychological and social challenges faced by youth in diaspora communities. She explained that many young people experience an inner conflict between the culture of their home country and the culture of the new society, which often leads to a sense of social alienation and loss of belonging.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">The workshop concluded with several recommendations, including:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">1. Providing training programs for families to help them understand the challenges their children face and to communicate with them using modern educational methods.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">2. Integrating curricula that focus on shared human values.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">3. Offering job opportunities and economic empowerment for youth, in addition to establishing sports, cultural, and artistic
