{"id":1482,"date":"2025-05-13T15:43:42","date_gmt":"2025-05-13T12:43:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.wsc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1482"},"modified":"2025-05-13T16:02:23","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T13:02:23","slug":"illegal-migration-and-drug-trafficking-a-scientific-lecture-organized-by-the-center-for-womens-studies-as-part-of-cultural-week-activities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.wsc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1482","title":{"rendered":"Illegal Migration and Drug Trafficking: A Scientific Lecture Organized by the Center for Women\u2019s Studies as Part of Cultural Week Activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">As part of the Cultural Week for Combating Drugs, the Center for Women\u2019s Studies organized a scientific lecture on Monday, May 12, 2025, entitled \u201cIllegal Migration and Its Role in the Spread of Drug Trafficking.\u201d The lecture was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Mohammed Khalaf, a faculty member at the Center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">The lecture addressed the complex dimensions of illegal migration as a global challenge that intersects with economic, social, and security issues. Assistant Lecturer Zainab Mohammed, who also serves as the Head of the Quality Assurance Unit at the Center, focused on the strong correlation between irregular migration and the expansion of drug trafficking. She explained how organized crime networks exploit the vulnerability of migrants to recruit them into smuggling and drug distribution activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Recommendations:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">1. Launch awareness campaigns on the dangers of illegal migration.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">2. Improve living and economic conditions in regions with high emigration rates.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">3. Strengthen border control and enhance anti-smuggling tools.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">This activity aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 16 on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, <\/span>and Goal 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth.<\/p>\n<div class=\"update-components-image
