{"id":1493,"date":"2025-05-13T15:55:13","date_gmt":"2025-05-13T12:55:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.wsc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1493"},"modified":"2025-05-13T18:32:11","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T15:32:11","slug":"womens-studies-center-organizes-workshop-on-the-psychological-effects-of-drugs-as-part-of-cultural-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.wsc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1493","title":{"rendered":"Women\u2019s Studies Center Organizes Workshop on the Psychological Effects of Drugs as Part of Cultural Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">On Thursday, May 8, 2025, the Empowerment and Capacity Building Division at the Women\u2019s Studies Center held an awareness workshop titled \u201cDrugs and Their Psychological Effects on the Individual and Society,\u201d presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Talib, a faculty member at the Women\u2019s Studies Center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">This workshop was held in line with the Center\u2019s commitment to societal and national responsibilities in addressing the issue of drug abuse by organizing awareness activities that contribute to raising public consciousness about the psychological and social risks of this phenomenon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">The session included specialized discussions on the psychological consequences of addiction and mechanisms for community-based prevention.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Recommendations:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">1. The necessity of providing guidance and awareness programs to combat drug abuse.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">2. Strengthening the role of parents through value-based education and proper guidance to reduce the prevalence of addiction.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">3. Activating legal and social deterrents as means to curb the spread of drugs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions, and Goal 8 on economic
