As part of the implementation of the National Strategy 2023–2030, specifically Pillar Four: Protecting Woman’s, and in conjunction with the launch of the 16 Daysan awareness Combating violence Against woman’s , the Woman’s Studies Center (Department of Policies and Legislation / Woman’s Affairs Unit), in collaboration with the Woman’s Affairs Department at Baytul-Hikma, held an awareness lecture on Monday, December 9, 2024. The lecture, titled “Together to End Violence Against Woman’s ”, was conducted in the conference hall of the House of Wisdom.
The session featured a presentation by Brigadier General Ali Iyad Ali, Director of the Strategic Forecasting and Prediction Department at the Ministry of Interior, who delivered a research paper titled “Intellectual Safety and Identifying Safe Paths to Achieve Protection Against Domestic Violence”. Additionally, Assistant Professor Dr. Saba Hussein, Head of the Policies and Legislation Department at the Woman’s Studies Center, presented her research paper on “Ways to Combat Violence”.
The lecture concluded with several key recommendations, including:
1.Increasing awareness and understanding among all Iraqi families about rejecting violence against women.
2.Enhancing religious awareness and promoting religious discourse aimed at fostering equitable and just treatment of women.
3.Approaching the Ministry of Education to introduce and activate educational curricula, such as courses on ethics and family values, to promote broader awareness.
