The Media and Government Communication Unit at the Woman’s Studies Center, University of Baghdad, held a scientific workshop titled “The Role of Media in Combating Administrative Corruption” on Monday, December 23, 2024, in the center’s meeting hall.
The workshop session was moderated by Assistant Lecturer Nawara Eyad Kazem, during which Assistant Lecturer Saad Rahim Hwaish discussed the types, impacts, dimensions, and methods of combating administrative corruption, as well as the media’s role in addressing it.
The workshop, attended by the center’s faculty and staff, focused on ways to activate the role of various media outlets and the judiciary in combating and reducing administrative corruption.
The workshop concluded with several recommendations, including:
• The necessity of selecting individuals with professionalism and integrity for positions of responsibility and senior roles managing the state.
• Enacting deterrent laws against corruption and highlighting them through media platforms.
• Establishing infrastructure and institutional frameworks that help eliminate the spread of administrative and financial corruption.
