The Women’s Studies Center organizes a workshop on women and violence.

The Women’s Studies Center organized a workshop titled “Women and Domestic Violence” on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the center’s dedicated meeting hall. Professor Vian Hussein Ahmed, a member of the Technological Incubator Unit/Department of Scientific Affairs at the University of Baghdad, led the discussion on various aspects of women and the domestic violence they endure. She delved into the different forms of violence and highlighted their adverse effects on families and society.

The workshop was attended by the center’s faculty and staff, engaging in discussions about the root causes of violence and strategies to safeguard women both mentally and physically. They underscored the imperative of enforcing laws that uphold women’s rights and support their well-being.
