On Monday, October 28, 2024, the International Community Research Department at the Woman’s Studies Center held a scientific symposium titled “International Woman’s Day: Mechanisms for Promoting Women’s Mental Health from the Perspective of the International Community.” The symposium was hosted in the hall of the Higher Institute for Accounting Studies, with Dr. Sinan Salah Rashid, Head of the International Community Research Department, presiding over the session, and Ms. Rasha Ali serving as the session’s rapporteur.
During the symposium, Mr. Samer Sameer, Ms. Bidaa Abdullah, and Dr. Rana Talib Yassin from the Woman’s Studies Center presented research papers discussing various topics related to woman’s mental health and ways to enhance it. The symposium also included participation from faculty members of the center and the university, such as Assistant Professor Fiyan Hussein Ahmed from the Electronic Nursery Division.
The symposium reached a set of recommendations:
1.The importance of self-care and building confidence through workshops that support mental health.
2.Promoting social interaction for women within society.
3.Achieving a balance between work and life
