On Thursday, February 6, 2025, the Department of International Community Research at the Woman’s Studies Center organized a workshop titled “Woman’s Participation at the International Peacebuilding Negotiation Table.” The session was chaired by Dr. Sinan Salah Rashid, Head of the Department of International Community Research, while the lecture was delivered by Dr. Lara Hassan Abdullah from the center.

The workshop discussed the role of women in negotiation processes and peacebuilding, as well as the challenges they face. It concluded with several key recommendations, including:
1.Activating and implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1325 to support woman’s participation in peace processes.
2.Providing protection and support for woman’s activists in the field of peace, ensuring their safety from violence and discrimination.
3.Enhancing woman’s role in diplomatic mediation and supporting their access to decision-making positions.
