In a gesture of appreciation and gratitude for his well-known humanitarian stances, Professor Dr. Athraa Ismail Zidan, Director of the Center for Women’s Studies at the University of Baghdad, met with His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, where she presented him with a symbolic portrait titled “Minister of Humanity” in recognition of his efforts in promoting human rights and supporting women’s and educational causes.
The official meeting took place on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, and was attended by Professor Dr. Lubna Khamis Mahdi, Director General of the Department of Research and Development; Ms. Jolan Mohammed, Head of the Human Rights Division at the Center for Psychological Sciences; and Dr. Alaa Abdul Khaliq Al-Mandalawi from the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad.
During the meeting, Dr. Athraa praised the pioneering role played by the Minister in supporting scientific research centers, especially those concerned with women’s issues and their academic and social empowerment. She affirmed that this symbolic tribute is in appreciation of his humanitarian values and his impactful presence in advancing higher education in Iraq
