The Quality Assurance Unit at the Woman’s Studies Center at the University, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the University of Baghdad, the Center for Continuing Education, and the National Center for Population and Demographic Studies, organized a scientific seminar titled “How to Choose International Journals within Global Indexes” on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Manuel Elias Hall, Laser Institute.

The seminar saw the participation of a group of academics and researchers, and was presented by Dr. Yusra Abdul Sahib Saifuddin and Dr. Amer Mohammed Mahdi. It covered topics such as mechanisms for selecting reputable scientific journals, criteria for global indexes like Scopus and Web of Science, and ways to avoid publishing in predatory journals.

This activity is part of the operational plan of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Evaluation Unit, affirming the center’s vision to enhance academic openness and improve the quality of scientific research.

1-Promote academic publishing in globally indexed journals to ensure the quality and impact of research.
2-Adhere to publishing standards by reviewing journal requirements before submitting research.
3-Regularly monitor the classification of scientific journals to avoid publishing in non-accredited journals.
