In support of the 16th Sustainable Development Goal focused on peace, justice, and strong institutions, and in alignment with the Third National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security for the year 2025—particularly its axis concerning protection and prevention—the Empowerment and Capacity Building Department at the Center for Women’s Studies organized an awareness workshop titled “Protecting Oneself from Intellectual Extremism Begins at Home.”
The workshop was held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, and was presented by Assistant Lecturer Rasha Ali Saleh, with the attendance of several individuals interested in intellectual and educational affairs.
The workshop shed light on the concept of intellectual extremism, exploring its causes, early indicators, various manifestations, and its serious impact on both individuals and society.
The session concluded with several recommendations, including:
1.The need to use modern software technologies to monitor children’s behavior on social media.
2.Launching awareness campaigns in schools to educate students about the dangers of extremism and methods of prevention.
3.Instilling moderate values and acceptance of others in children.
