The Center for Woman’s Studies/Department of Policies and Legislation, in cooperation with the College of Education for Women/Women’s Affairs Unit, held a scientific symposium titled “The Experience of Community Policing in Protecting Children and Women” on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in the Discussion Hall at the College of Education for Women, University of Baghdad.
Several speakers discussed topics related to the social responsibility of community policing, as well as its role in ensuring the safety and security of families.
The symposium concluded with several key recommendations, including:
1. Conducting research studies on the phenomenon of domestic violence, addressing its causes and solutions.
2. Reaching out to the Ministry of Education to incorporate educational programs into the curriculum that denounce domestic violence and provide guidance on prevention (Family Studies subject).
3. Enhancing the role of psychological and social counselors in all state institutions and non-governmental organizations to control and raise awareness of this phenomenon.
