Assistant Professor Dr. Saba Hussein, Head of the Department of Policies and Legislation at the Center for Women’s Studies at the University of Baghdad, participated on Tuesday, May 14, 2025, as a member of the defense committee for a doctoral dissertation at the Institute of Arab History and Scientific Heritage for Graduate Studies. The dissertation was entitled “The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in British Strategy, 1951–1967.”

The dissertation, which represents a valuable addition to academic literature, examined the political and military dimensions upon which Britain based its strategy toward Jordan during that period. It emphasized the importance of Jordan’s geopolitical location and its pivotal role in shaping international policies. The defense was distinguished by rigorous scholarly discussion and in-depth analysis, highlighting the historical and strategic significance of the research topic.
