The Board of Directors of the Women’s Studies Center at the University of Baghdad held its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Athraa Ismail Zidan, Director of the Center and Chairperson of the Board, and attended by board members, including department heads and faculty members specializing in women’s issues.
The meeting focused on key strategic issues related to the empowerment of Iraqi women, institutional performance evaluation, and strengthening partnerships with government agencies and civil society organizations.
Key Outcomes of the Board Meeting:
1. Supporting conferences, workshops, and seminars that contribute to the political, social, and economic empowerment of women.
2. Reviewing existing legislation and proposing amendments that enhance women’s participation in all fields.
3. Expanding academic and research partnerships with local and international institutions.
4. Enhancing the center’s technical capabilities and developing its knowledge database.
