The Center for Women’s Studies at the University of Baghdad held a coordination meeting on the morning of Tuesday, May 20, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Athraa Ismail Zaidan, Director of the Center, and attended by the academic and administrative staff, as part of the ongoing preparations for the Fifth Scientific Conference titled “Towards a National Strategy for Women’s Development in Accordance with National and Social Identity.”
The meeting addressed both scientific and logistical arrangements for the conference, in addition to reviewing the proposed agenda and the themes of the scientific sessions, which will highlight key issues related to the empowerment of Iraqi women and the enhancement of their role in sustainable development projects, in line with a vision that aligns with national and social identity.
Dr. Zaidan emphasized the importance of the conference as a qualitative research milestone that contributes to shaping development strategies based on scientific foundations. She called for coordination of academic and institutional efforts to ensure tangible outcomes that serve the interests of women and society.
